Land Ownership

Australia's natural resources and sovereign soils deserve the same level of protection that is offered to individual citizens, and likewise they are an invaluable yet finite resource that contributes to the overall prosperity of this country.

EAP proposes that all sovereign lands within the borders of Australia be protected and subject to a strict policy of 'Australian Owned' - whereby no land may be owned by a non Australian citizen, or non Australian owned company - and any incomes or profits made from these lands and their contents are subject to full and equal taxation.

The merits of this policy can be balanced against the merits of maintaining the existing current foreign ownership laws but with significantly reduced limits and requirements upon the size, use, and output of the lands, with a decision being being a possible subject for inclusion on our 'National Register of Issues'.

Foreign owned companies are eligible to lease land within our borders as wholly international entities, with usage of, and activities undertaken, on the land being subject to Australian law.

In either situation, any income or profits made from these lands would still be subject to full and equal taxation regardless of the decision relating to the final ownership of the property in question. (see Taxation Reform policy)
